Cops - Law Enforcers or Liars?

Well, my dad has been battling over a ticket he received 6 months ago. He will get going to court soon and may be found guilty and sent to jail which would cause him to lose his job and most likely his home. The ticket he received was for Criminal Reckless Driving, which carries a minimum of 4 months in jail.

Here's the story, the way I heard it from my dads point of view;

My dad was driving his friend somewhere and got stuck in high traffic.
He saw an open lane next to him and decided he would seize the opportunity and get in that lane while it was free.
He checked his mirrors like he was suppose to and saw no one, so he began to pull out.
He successfully pulled out and continued down the road, until he heard police sirens behind him.
He checked his rear view mirror and saw a police car flying towards him.
He put on the brakes and tried to pull over and according to him the cop was traveling so fast that the cop almost rear ended him when he tried to stop.
He sat in his car and waited for the cop to come up and talk to him. He was getting his license out when the cop reached his window. He was behaving as he should so he didn't expect the verbal abuse he was subjected to when the cop reached the window. According to my dad he called him a fucking idiot and threatened to take his CDL license and get him thrown in jail.

Here's what my dad's lawyer said the cop put in his report;

He was driving down the road when suddenly out of no where my dad swerved in his lane and came within 6 inches of hitting him.
He then had to aggressively swerved into the oncoming lane and was nearly hit head on and almost caused a pile up.

Now, I have known my dad all my life (all 18 years) and know that he was not the kind of person to drive recklessly. He is 54 years old and has a nearly perfect driving record. My dad has always believed in telling the truth and has never lied before. He strongly believes he is going to be sent to jail because he is going up against one of Arizona's Sheriff Joe Arpaio's Deputies. Joe Arpaio is a very harsh man, last I checked he had prisoners living in tents in the extremely hot Arizona weather and wearing pink underwear (I think).

Oh well, back to the incident... The cop said he almost got hit head on and almost caused a pile up... Now, I would think that would make a LOT of noise, and my dad is very weary when driving so he would notice something that loud. But he heard nothing until he heard the police sirens coming up behind him. Thank god my dad had a witness that may be able to help him in court.

Well, I am not really sure about whether or not I trust police now after hearing everything my dad has gone through. Post your encounters with the police if you like, or just correct my grammar if you want lol, I think I messed some of it up.

School Has Begun...

Well, for me school began Monday, August 6th. My first day was pretty easy and laid back. I got my schedule and was rather happy. My schedule is currently as follows;

First Semester;
1st Class - Economics
2nd Class - Java Programming (yay!

)
3rd Class - Science, Technology, and Community
4th Class - Business Management

Second Semester;
1st Class - World History...
2nd Class - English Literature / Composition
3rd Class - Computer Repair (yay!

)
4th Class - NOTHING!

So far I have yet to really get any work lol, we've mainly just been sitting around and waiting for the n00bs to get their schedules all fixed because they don't want their classes... Not that it aggravates me, I love being able to sit around for an hour and a half lol. I am really looking forward to getting into that Java Programming class (only 8 students!
